During the presentation, Emilio Botto, who will head Mills Capital Asset Management's investment strategy, noted that the industry's growth has also raised investors' expectations:

"The industry is entering a new stage. Recent growth has not only expanded volume, it has also raised the bar: investors today demand more clarity in investment processes and risk management, which is pushing decision-making toward higher standards," said Emilio Botto.

Botto has more than 30 years of experience in portfolio management and served as CIO of BNP Paribas Asset Management Argentina for more than two decades.

The funds behind Mills Capital's market positioning

Mills Capital Asset Management's initial lineup was designed for different investor profiles, ranging from strategies focused on capital preservation and liquidity to alternatives aimed at capturing higher returns over longer horizons. Mills Capital Asset Management's initial offering includes four mutual funds:

Mills Fixed Income Pesos FCI: A conservative-profile fund focused on capital preservation, mainly through short-term, highly liquid sovereign instruments.
Mills Fixed Income USD FCI: A dollar-denominated alternative centered on sovereign instruments and corporate issuances of high credit quality with short- and medium-term maturities.
Mills Fixed Income Growth Pesos FCI: A conservative/moderate strategy that incorporates different segments of the sovereign curve to seek greater return potential without sacrificing stability.
Mills M1000 Balanced ARS FCI: A diversified fund of Argentine assets focused on optimizing risk-adjusted returns.

Transactions can be carried out digitally through Mills Capital Markets, with account-opening and subscription processes designed to simplify access to the funds for individuals and companies.

Mutual fund growth is redrawing the financial map

The industry's expansion is not insignificant. According to sector data, assets under management by mutual funds already exceed $90 trillion pesos and have posted two consecutive years of real growth above inflation. Behind this dynamic lies a deeper shift: growing demand for professionally managed instruments, in a context where investors have started to prioritize diversification, risk management and consistency.

Macroeconomic normalization, slowing inflation and portfolio rebalancing have particularly boosted money market funds and short-term fixed income funds. However, the market is beginning to show a gradual extension of duration and greater demand for strategies with better risk-adjusted returns, including T+1 funds, dollar-denominated vehicles and balanced alternatives.

Against this backdrop, the emergence of new independent fund managers is gaining relevance within the local financial ecosystem.

The consolidation of independent fund managers

Beyond this particular launch, the move reflects a broader trend within the Argentine financial market: the growth of independent fund managers, which now account for more than 40% of the industry.

This phenomenon accompanies a structural shift in which the competitive edge is moving away from access to instruments and toward the quality of the investment process and the ability to manage risk in scenarios of greater volatility.
